Where to stay in Sicily
Sicily offers a wide range of accommodation options to suit different budgets and travel styles. Major cities such as Palermo and Catania have modern hotels, boutique guesthouses and serviced apartments, while coastal areas feature resorts and seaside hotels.
In rural regions, agriturismo farm stays provide a more traditional experience, often set among vineyards or olive groves. Smaller towns and villages offer charming bed and breakfasts, while accommodation in popular tourist areas generally meets international standards.
Sicily has a good selection of organised campsites located along the coast and in rural areas. These campsites typically offer facilities such as electricity, water, restrooms and sometimes restaurants or small shops.
Wild camping is generally not permitted in Sicily, particularly in protected areas such as national parks, nature reserves and coastal zones. In practice, enforcement can vary, but visitors are advised to use designated campsites or obtain permission from landowners before setting up camp.
