Weather in Santiago

Best time to visit

The city's geography is not entirely in its favour - its location has a tendency to trap smog, which may cloud your view of the snow-capped mountains. Nevertheless, Santiago enjoys a pleasant, Mediterranean climate.

June and August are the coldest months with average lows of around 4°C (39°F). It’s also relatively wet during these months, while the average rainy days between November and March can be counted on one hand. During the summer temperatures can regularly reach 35°C (95°F), and the humidity compounded by smog. The most pleasant time to visit is March to May and September to November.
