To enter Namibia, your passport should be valid for at least six months from your entry date and have at least one completely blank page.
If you require a visa, your passport must have at least three blank pages.
Not all EU nationals are exempted from visa requirements when travelling to Namibia.
Nationals from the following countries must apply for a visa on arrival to Namibia from April 2025:
Africa: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cabo Verde, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Côte d’Ivoire, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Madagascar, Mauritania, Niger, Rwanda, São Tomé and Príncipe, Sierra Leone, Togo, Tunisia, Western Sahara Republic, and Uganda.
Other countries: Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Cambodia, Chile, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, Moldova, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States of America, Uruguay, Uzbekistan, Vatican, Venezuela, and Vietnam.
Nationals from countries not mentioned here are advised to contact the nearest high commission/embassy for visa requirements for Namibia.
For visa on arrival, the fees are NAD 1,200 for nationals from African countries, and NAD 1,600 for others.
For other types, the fees vary depending on one's nationality and where the application is being made.
Visa on arrival can be obtained online at mhaiss.gov.na or at any of the following ports of entry: Hosea Kutako International Airport, Walvis Bay International Airport, and several border posts, including Ariamsvlei, Impalila, Katima Mulilo, Mohembo, Ngoma, Noordoewer, Oshikango, Oranjemund, Trans Kalahari, and Walvis Bay Harbour.
Contact the nearest consulate or embassy for other visas.
If you plan to work or study in Namibia, you must obtain a temporary work or study permit from the high commission or embassy in your own country.
Three-month visa extensions are available from the Ministry of Home Affairs in Windhoek.
Parents travelling with children under 18 must show the original or certified copy of the unabridged birth certificate showing the details of both parents. If the child is travelling with one parent only, then a parental legalised consent affidavit signed by the absent parent is required.
