Cancún International Airport Guide (CUN)
Cancún International Airport is the second largest airport in Mexico and one of the busiest international airports in the region. It is the gateway to the popular Riviera Maya with its stretches of sandy beaches, numerous activities and historical attractions. Information desks are in all terminals and designated airport representatives are available to provide additional information to passengers.
From central Cancún, drivers should go southbound on Highway 307 (Carretera Cancún-Tumul) and after 10km take the exit toward Aeropuerto.
Public Transport
Bus: Cancún Airport offers a one-way bus service to Cancún bus station from the airport (tel: +52 998 848 0333 or +52 998 848 0335; www.cancunairport.com/public-buses). Tickets are purchased online and an airport representative will meet you in arrivals to take you to the bus stop.
Shuttle: There are no complimentary hotel shuffle services from the airport, but there are various shuttle services at a cost (tel: +52 998 848 0333 or +52 998 848 0335; www.cancunairport.com/transportation.com).
Taxi: An official taxi company (tel: +52 998 287 0336; www.cancunairport.com/taxi) provides individual and group services from the airport. Taxis must be reserved in advance online; there is no taxi rank available at the airport. Prices start around US$10 for shared rides or US$25 for private rides.
Terminal facilities
Wi-Fi Internet access is available throughout Cancún International Airport, while a free service is offered in the VIP lounge. Public telephones and charging points for mobile devices are also available throughout.
Cancún International Airport has a variety of fast-food outlets, bars and restaurants serving both Mexican and international fare in Terminals 2, 3 and 4.
There are a variety of gift shops at the airport selling a range of items, from local crafts to jewellery. Duty-free stores are available, selling the usual range of confectionary, perfumes, alcohol and tobacco products.

Airport facilities
Conference facilities are available in the VIP lounge located airside in Terminal’s 2 and 3, along with fax, phone and Internet services. Additional business facilities are available at the nearby Courtyard by Marriott Hotel (tel: +52 998 287 2200; www.marriott.com).
Car parking is located at the airport main entrance. The car park, which offers both short- and long-term rates, is open 24 hours a day.
The airport has their own car rental service. Avis, Europcar, Budget and Hertz are also on-site.
A beautiful resort right on the coast, Moon Palace is located roughly 20 minutes from the airport via shuttle bus. Facilities at the resort are all encompassing, with several restaurants, a spa, wave simulator and even a golf course at guests’ disposal.
Convenient for local beaches and just 10 minutes from the airport via its shuttle service, the Courtyard offers free Wi-Fi, a restaurant and bar, a fitness centre and an outdoor pool. Several meeting facilities are available, the largest of which can fit 250 delegates.
This imposing hotel is close to the beach and within 10 minutes of the city’s main business centre. A complimentary shuttle service operates to and from the airport (by prior arrangement). Among its facilities are a restaurant and bar, business centre and two jacuzzis. Wi-Fi access is included in the room rate.
