Travellers must hold a passport valid for at least six months from the date of entry, with at least two blank pages.
Of all the EU member states, only Luxembourgers can visit Laos without a visa for up to 15 days.
In total, nationals of the following countries may enter Laos visa-free for varying durations: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Thailand and Vietnam.
Laos offers an eVisa facility for citizens of many other countries. Travellers can check the full list of eligible nationalities on the official Laos eVisa website. Please note that eVisa holders may only enter Laos through the following designated ports of entry:
• Wattay International Airport
• Pakse International Airport
• Luang Prabang International Airport
• Lao–Thai Friendship Bridges I, II and IV
• Boten International Checkpoint
• Boten Railway Station
• Khamsavath Railway Station
