Al-Jahra
Al-Jahra, 40 minutes west of Kuwait City, is the site of the Gulf War's infamous “turkey shoot”, the Allied destruction of a retreating Iraqi convoy. The town's only sight today is the Red Fort, a rectangular, mud structure near the highway. The surrounding area is pretty in spring when the desert briefly turns green after the winter rains.
Entertainment City
Located 20km (12 miles) outside of Kuwait City, Entertainment City is known the Disneyland of Kuwait with four areas of themed rides. The vast complex also has exotic gardens, a lake, a mosque, an open-air Roman amphitheatre, restaurants, a zoo and a mini golf course. Note that Mondays are for women only.
