Passports

To enter Jamaica, a passport valid for the duration of intended stay is usually required, but as these validity requirements may change, it is recommended that your passport should be valid for at least six months.

Visas

Nationals of Australia, Canada, Cyprus, Malta and the UK can visit Jamaica without a visa and stay for an unlimited period, although they are usually granted up to 90 days upon entry.

Americans can visit Jamaica without a visa and stay up to 180 days.

EU Note 1: Nationals of Bulgaria, Croatia and Romania can visit Jamaica without a visa for up to 30 days for tourism purposes if they have a US, UK, Canadian or Schengen visa, and can present proof of vaccination against measles, rubella, and polio.

EU Note 2: Nationals of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Slovenia can visit Jamaica without a visa for up to 30 days for tourism purposes if they can present proof of vaccination against measles, rubella, and polio.

EU Note 3: Nationals of Austria, Czech Republic, France, Greece, Hungary, Monaco, Poland, Portugal and Slovakia can visit Jamaica without a visa for up to 30 days.

EU Note 4: Nationals of Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Spain and Sweden can visit Jamaica without a visa for up to 90 days.

In addition to countries mentioned above, nationals from the following countries can also visit Jamaica without a visa, although the length of stay allowed varies: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Bahamas, Bangladesh, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, Botswana, Brazil, Brunei, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Eswatini, Fiji, Gambia, Ghana, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Guyana, Hong Kong, Samoa, India, Israel, Japan, Kenya, Kiribati, Lesotho, Malawi, Malaysia, Maldives, Martinique, Mauritius, Mexico, Monaco, Montserrat, Mozambique, Namibia, Nauru, Netherlands Antilles, New Zealand, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Russia, San Marino, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Africa, South Korea, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Martin, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Switzerland, Tanzania, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, Turks and Caicos, Tuvalu, Uganda, Ukraine, Uruguay, Vanuatu, Venezuela, and Zambia.

Types and cost

Visa fees vary depending on nationality.

Working days

Visitors applying for visas in advance from the embassy/high commission should allow three to seven days for processing. If the application has to be referred to Jamaica for approval, it may take two to three weeks.

Sufficient funds

Visa applicants must be able to show proof of sufficient funds to cover their stay in Jamaica.

Extension of stay

Visitors may be able to extend their stay up to a maximum of six months.

Entry with pets

Only animals born in the UK or Ireland may be brought into Jamaica. You must obtain an import permit from the Veterinary Division of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries (www.moa.gov.jm).
