A standard charge of US$1.50 per day is levied by many hotels. Additional service charges can range between 15 and 30% depending on the time of year. Package prices range from all inclusive to room-only.
Grading: Guadeloupe uses the star grading system, with properties rated from 1-4 stars.
Guadeloupe has a good supply of self-catering gites - the French term for (mainly) rural cottages - and villas for rent. These can be booked through Gîtes de France Guadeloupe (see Accommodation Information). There are also rural Bienvenue à la Ferme and Auberge Créoles accommodation. These are mostly self-catering, but one or two offer catered options as well.
