To enter France, a valid passport is required for nationals referred to in the chart above, except EU nationals who hold a valid national ID card. EU nationals will need to have a valid passport when they transit via a third country.
Visas to French Overseas Possessions are not required by the nationals referred to in the chart above for touristic stays of up to 90 days within 180 days, providing they hold a return ticket.
Nationals not referred to in the chart above are advised to contact their nearest French Embassy to check visa requirements for French Overseas Possessions.

Nationals who do require a visa can enter French Overseas Possessions, when they have a a valid residence permit or a long-term visa (D) for a Schengen country.
