This prestigious biennial arts festival is the oldest of its kind in the country, founded in 1943. The exhibitions span the whole range of modern art, photography, music, theatre, dance, and film, attracting artists from all over Venezuela and Latin America. It’s also a good chance to meet the locals at the Bohemia café, which serves up gastronomic specialities and holds occasional concerts.
