Richmond Airport is located off Interstate 64, granting access from the east and west, and Interstate 95, providing connections from the north and south.
From Richmond, take Interstate 64 East to exit 197A and follow the road (South Airport Drive) to the airport. The total drive time from Richmond to the airport is approximately 15 minutes.
Public Transport
Bus:The Greater Richmond Transit Company (tel: +1 804 358 4782; www.ridegrtc.com) operates public buses to Richmond (journey time: 20 minutes; fare: US$2) and other nearby locations.
Taxi:Taxis are available kerbside, next to the North Parking Garage. A number of companies operate from Richmond International Airport, including Airport Taxi (tel: +1 804 233 4444), Galaxy Cab (tel: +1 804 560 4408; www.galaxycabco.com) and Richmond Flyer Taxi (tel: +1 804 914 5544; www.richmondflyertaxi.net). The fare into the city is approximately US$30.
Terminal facilities
Full bank services, including currency exchange of Mexican Peso, Canadian Dollar, Euros and British Pounds, are available in the main lobby on the upper level. ATMs can be found in the upper level concourse between the atrium and the escalator, and in the lobby areas of the covered car parks.
A selection of cafés, restaurants, grills and takeaway services are located in the upper level of the atrium and on the concourses. These include an Italian eatery in concourse A, a grill restaurant in concourse B, and a café and restaurant in the public area.
There are several news and gift outlets within the terminal, including numerous newsagents, a souvenir shop and a retailer selling children’s toys.
Lost and found items at Richmond International Airport are handled by the Airport Dispatch department (tel: +1 804 226 8585) on the lower level of the terminal.
Airport facilities
Two small meeting rooms (tel: +1 804 226 3013) with capacity of up to six people are available for rental. In addition, a business centre can be found on the upper level of the terminal building, providing work stations with internet connections for laptop computers.
More extensive meeting and event space is also available at the nearby Hotel Richmond Airport (tel: +1 804 226 6400; www.hotelrichmondairport.com).
Richmond International Airport is accessible for disabled travellers. Lifts are located on the lower level of the terminal building, near the hire car counters and in the multistorey car parks, where there are dedicated parking spaces for disabled passengers. All toilets and payphones are wheelchair accessible and a TTY phone is located on the first level.
Skycap porters are available outside the terminal and can provide wheelchairs and luggage assistance for disabled travellers; passengers should request wheelchair assistance from their airline when booking their flight.
Long-term/daily parking is located directly across from the terminal building in multistorey and surface car parks, while short-term parking can be found on the first level of the North and South multistorey car parks.
Other facilities include two economy car parks (that are linked to the terminal via regular free shuttles), valet parking outside the terminal, and a 'cell phone' car park for those meeting arriving passengers.

Car hire companies operating at Richmond International Airport include: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, Payless and Thrifty. Desks for these operators are located on the lower level of the terminal building, behind the escalators.
The closest accommodation to the airport terminal, and providing a free shuttle service, the Hotel Richmond Airport is a mid-range offering, with on-site restaurant, meeting rooms and business centre.
Located approximately 1.5km (1 mile) from the airport, in the charming town of Sandston, this chain budget hotel offers clean rooms, free high-speed internet access and an on-site business centre. Restaurants are available in the near vicinity, but breakfast is available on-site. An exercise room is also available to guests.
One of a number of hotels within a 1.6km (1 mile) radius of Richmond International Airport, the 136-room Courtyard Marriott offers free shuttle transfers, on-site dining and complimentary internet access.
