The Atlantic City International Airport is a joint civil-military airport located 16 km (10 miles) northwest of the Atlantic City centre in New Jersey. Our guide to the airport includes detailed information on available terminal facilities, transport options and local accommodation.
The information desk (tel: +1 609 645 7895) is located to the right of the main entrance. It is staffed seven days a week from 5:00 am to 6:00 pm.
From the Atlantic City centre, take the Atlantic City Expressway W to exit 9 and continue on to Delilah Road. Lastly, follow the signs to the airport and take a slight right onto Amelia Earhart Boulevard. The drive time hovers around 20 minutes depending on traffic.
Public Transport
Rail: Free shuttle buses run between the airport and the Egg Harbor City Station, where trains depart for Atlantic City (journey time: 25 minutes; fare: US $3.50) and Philadelphia (journey time: 70 minutes; fare: US $10.75). The line is operated by NJ Transit (tel: +1 973 275 5555; www.njtransit.com).
Taxi: Taxis are available curbside just outside the terminal (journey time: 20-30 minutes). A courtesy telephone assistance line (tel: 2002) is available at the taxi service desk close to baggage claim and the terminal exit.
Bus: Passengers wishing to travel to downtown Atlantic City from the airport can use the Go Bus, which is operated by NJ Transit (tel: +1 973 275 5555; www.njtransit.com). The easiest option is to take the free shuttle to Egg Harbor City Station and pick up the bus into Atlantic City from there.
Shuttle: 'Jitney' services (tel: +1 609 576 2776; www.jitneyac.com) meet all arriving flights and charge a fixed US $10 for journeys from the airport to all Atlantic City hotels and casinos.
Terminal facilities
Food and drink outlets are stationed throughout the airport. Options include a pub/restaurant, bar and sandwich shop.
A porter service is available for those who require assistance. Enquiries regarding lost property should be addressed to the airport’s information desk.
Airport facilities
There are no conference or business facilities at the airport for passenger use. The nearest business spaces are available at various hotels that surround the airport.
The airport is fully accessible to disabled travelers courtesy of lifts, ramps, and toilets designated for people with disabilities. Passengers that need wheelchairs and wheelchair assistance are advised to contact their airline prior to airport arrival. The car parks also have designated spaces for disabled travellers.
Car parks offer short and long-term parking options. The six-story car park is located opposite the terminal and is connected to the airport via a covered walkway.
Economy parking is available a short distance from the terminal building. Visitors can either take the short walk to the terminal or use the free shuttle, available starting at 4:00 a.m. every day, that makes continuous trips to and from the economy car park.
A cellphone lot is located at the entrance to the airport site for those awaiting arriving passengers.
Car hire operators: Avis, Budget, Enterprise and Hertz are represented at the airport. Car hire desks are located inside the terminal next to the baggage claim area. Pre-arranged appointments are recommended for those who require handicap assistance.
Just a short drive from the Atlantic City Airport, the Holiday Inn Express West Atlantic City offers guests well-appointed rooms, business centre, gym, and outdoor swimming pool. A breakfast buffet is included with the room rate.
