Flights to Arkansas are served by a number of US carriers including American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Continental Airlines and Southwest Airlines. There are no direct flights from the UK.

There are several airports in Arkansas, but Clinton National Airport (tel: +1 501 372 3439; www.fly-lit.com) is the largest situated off Interstate 404. To/from the airport: It is possible to book the Arizona Shuttle (tel: +1 800 888 2749; groometransportation.com), or catch a cab. Rental companies are available too, including Avis, Alamo, Budget, Hertz and Thrifty.

Travel by rail

Amtrak’s Texas Eagle route runs through Arkansas, linking the state with Chicago, San Antonio, and many stops in between.
