Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport Guide (PHX)
The largest airport in Arizona, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is located in central Phoenix and operates both domestic and international routes. Our Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport guide includes information on terminal facilities, options on how to get to and from the airport and accommodation options nearby.
The first phase of the construction of the automated Sky Train system was completed in 2013. The system provides a link from Terminal 4 to the Valley Metro light rail system that operates to the city centre – further connections to Terminals 2 and 3, plus the Rental Car Centre, will be completed by 2020.
Information desks are located throughout the terminals, including a Travellers Aid desk (tel: (602) 244 1346), which operates within the chapel on level 3 of Terminal 4. There are also many 'navigator volunteers', who can help with directions and other information.
Shuttle buses run continuously between the terminals and West Economy Parking. The Sky Train links Terminal 4 to the economy parking area and the metro station.
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is located off Interstate 10, which runs from west to east through Phoenix. Follow the route until exit 149, where drivers should turn onto Sky Harbor Boulevard, which connects to the airport. Interstate 17 and SR202 link to Interstate 10 from the west and north respectively. Alternative routes from Downtown include the eastbound Jefferson Street and Buckeye Boulevard – the former links to Sky Harbor Boulevard via Interstate 10, while the latter leads directly to the airport.
