From central Birmingham, take the eastbound Interstate 59/20 to exit 129; turn left at the end of the exit and follow Messer Airport Highway to Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport. The journey should take approximately 10 minutes.
From Atlanta, take the westbound Interstate 20 to Interstate 20/59, depart at exit 129, and follow directions as above. The driving time from central Atlanta is approximately 2 hours and 10 minutes.
Public Transport

Taxis: Taxis are available 24/7 on the ground level outside the baggage claim area. The airport is served by Yellow Cab (tel: +1 205 222 2222; www.birminghamyellowcab.com), among other providers. Fares to the city centre start at around US$15, and the journey takes about 15 minutes.
Terminal facilities
ATMs can be found throughout the terminal: in the baggage reclaim area, on the upper level of concourses A and B, and near the food courts of concourses B and C.
Free Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport and public telephones are positioned at various points within the complex.
There is a small selection of places to eat at Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport. Among those are fast-food outlets, restaurants, a delicatessen and a snack bar – most of which are located after the security screening area on the upper levels of concourses A and B.

There are few hotels near Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport; however, the airport's proximity to Birmingham city means numerous accommodation options are available within minutes of arrival. Most local and city hotels offer courtesy shuttle transportation to and from the terminal.
