Driving directions

The airport is 5km (3 miles) out of the city centre on the left of the Sydenham Bypass (A2). From the centre, head north eastwards along Sydenham Bypass (A2) and follow signs for the airport, which has its own dedicated exit. The total drive time to the airport from Belfast city centre is approximately 10 minutes.

Rail:Trains run to Belfast Central and Victoria Street Stations (tel: +44 28 9066 6630; www.translink.co.uk/NI-Railways). Trains leave from the Sydenham Station, which is adjacent to the airport – courtesy shuttle buses operate from the airport terminal (journey time: 6 minutes).

Public transport road

Bus:The Airport Express bus 600 (tel: +44 28 9066 6630; www.translink.co.uk) runs from the terminal to Belfast Europa Bus Centre (journey time: 13 minutes; fare: £2.40). Bus 3A operates from Sydenham Station to City Hall (journey time: 15 minutes; fare: £1.90).

Airporter (tel: +44 28 7126 9996; www.airporter.co.uk) operates nine daily coaches to Derry/Londonderry (journey time: 2 hours; fare: £20).

Taxi:Airport-approved taxis (tel: +44 28 9080 9080; www.valuecabs.co.uk) operate from a rank directly outside the terminal building. The fare to the city centre is around £10.

Money

There are ATMs pre- and post-security. Currency exchange facilities are available from Travelex in the public area of the concourse.

Communication

Free Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout George Best Belfast City Airport, while internet kiosks are located in the departures lounge. A postbox is situated post-security, and coin- and card-operated public telephones are positioned at various points within the terminal.

Food

There is a 'food village' in the departures area with a number of cafés, snack bars and full-service options. In addition, there is a café on the ground floor in the public area.

Disabled facilities

A special check-in desk is provided for disabled passengers and staff members here are trained in basic signing. An induction loop can be fitted and a text phone can be provided on request from the information desk. Assistance – including ambulifts to aircrafts – can be requested when booking the flight or by notifying security on arrival.

The airport is accessible, with low-level kerbs at entrances and exits to the terminals, ramps and lifts where necessary, easy-access toilets and lowered telephones.

There are disabled parking spaces close to the airport entrance in the short-stay car park – customers with disability identification are charged long-term rates.
