London Southend Airport Guide (SEN)
One of six international airports serving London, Southend Airport is located in Essex, a region between London and the North Sea.
London Southend Airport is about 61km (41 miles) east of Central London. It can be reached from London via the eastbound A13. Then at the Rayleigh Spur Roundabout, take A1245 and then A127 towards Southend. Follow the airport signs.
Public Transport
Rail: There are scheduled trains running between Southend Airport and London Liverpool Street Station (journey time: 52 minutes). Services are operated by Greater Anglia (www.greateranglia.co.uk).
Bus: Arriva (www.arrivabus.co.uk) buses 7, 8 and 9 link Southend Airport with the surrounding areas.
Coach: X30 services between Southend and Stansted Airport via Southend Airport and Chelmsford. The X30 bus stop is next to The Holiday Inn just a short walk from the main terminal.
Taxi: The official London Southend Airport taxi service is provided by Andrews Airport Cars (+44 1702 200 000).
Terminal facilities
A small bureau de change is located in the entrance area. ATMs are available at various points within the terminal building.
The glass-clad Holiday Inn Southend is located about a 5-minute walk away. It offers 129 bedrooms, a rooftop restaurant and a mini gym.
About 10 minutes by car from the airport, the budget Premier Inn is on the bus route where you can catch Arriva 9 or the X30.
