East Midlands Airport Guide (EMA)

From Nottingham, take the A52 westbound and join the M1 at junction 25 southbound. Continue southbound and exit at junction 24, then follow signs to East Midlands Airport.
Public Transport
Rail: Shared pre-booked taxis (tel: +44 1332 581 581; www.emarailink.co.uk) link the airport with East Midlands Parkway Station, which is a few minutes' drive from the airport. From here, direct trains travel to Nottingham, Leicester, Derby, London and other destinations. Bus: Regular 24-hour Skylink (tel: +44 871 919 9000; www.eastmidlandsairport.com) bus services connect East Midlands Airport with Nottingham (journey time: 55 minutes; fare: £5), Leicester (journey time: 53 minutes; fare: £6.80), Derby (journey time: 40 minutes; fare: £4.30) and other local destinations. The bus stop is directly outside the terminal.
Coach: National Express (tel: +44 871 781 8181; www.nationalexpress.com) operates services connecting East Midlands Airport with Sheffield, Leeds, Coventry, Heathrow Airport and Gatwick Airport.
Taxi: Arrow Cars (tel: +44 1332 814 000; www.arrowprivatehire.co.uk) taxis are available from the taxi office outside Arrivals, 24 hours a day. Fares to Nottingham, Leicester and Derby start at £25/35.
Terminal facilities
Free Wi-Fi internet access (for up to 60 minutes) is available throughout East Midlands Airport. Additionally, public telephones and fixed internet kiosks are situated at strategic points in the airport building.
Eateries at East Midlands Airport include cafés before the security area as well as fast-food outlets and an Italian restaurant post-security. The Food Court, located on the first floor of the terminal, also houses a coffee shop, burger chain and bar.
There are many shops at East Midlands Airport, including a duty- and tax-free shop for those travelling outside of the EU. Books, electrical goods, fashion and beauty products are all available from various shops, most of which are located in Departures.
A lost property service is operated at the information desk (tel: +44 871 919 9000). Left-luggage facilities are provided by the individual airlines, on request.
Airport facilities
There is an executive lounge, open to all departing passengers for a fee, which offers full business services. Fax and photocopy facilities are available at the information desk for a small charge. Conference facilities can be found at the Radisson Blu East Midlands Airport hotel (tel: +44 1509 670 575; www.radissonblu.co.uk) on the airport site.
Porters are available to provide assistance to wheelchair passengers; those wishing to use this service should contact the information desk (tel: +44 871 919 9000). Reserved parking is provided in the short-term car park located 50m (164ft) from the terminal building entrance. Wheelchair-accessible taxis are also available.
Within the terminal, there are adapted toilets, lowered phones, lifts, and hearing loops. Passengers who require the ambulift for boarding aircrafts should notify their airline before travelling.
There is parking for more than 4,000 cars at East Midlands Airport. The short-stay car park is located next to the main terminal building. A courtesy shuttle transports passengers to/from the medium- and long-stay car parks. There is also a 'meet and greet' valet parking service. Car hire operators Europcar, Enterprise, Hertz and National are represented at the airport. The car hire centre is situated in the arrivals hall.
Located just 6km (4 miles) from the airport, the Hilton is also conveniently close to East Midlands Parkway rail station. The hotel offers 13 meeting and conference rooms, a choice of dining options and an on-site fitness centre.
The Jury’s Inn East Midlands Airport hotel (formerly the Thistle East Midlands Airport) is located less than 2km (1 mile) from East Midlands Airport, and it can arrange transfers to/from the terminal building. Hotel facilities include meeting/event space for up to 220 people and 'Park and Fly' airport parking packages.
Just 800m (2,625ft) from the airport terminal – which it is linked with via a shuttle bus service – the new Radisson Blu East Midlands Airport offers a health club with a pool, beauty salon, restaurant and bar. Free internet access is available, along with a range of meeting rooms.
Holiday Inn Express East Midlands Airport is a two-minute drive from the airport and offers a shuttle bus service to/from the terminal. Hotel facilities include meeting rooms, on-site dining, and 'Park, Stay and Go' airport parking packages.
Within the Donington Park M1 motorway service area, the budget Nottingham EM Airport Travelodge is less than 5km (3 miles) from East Midlands Airport. The hotel has on-site parking spaces (for the duration of the stay only) and some meeting facilities.
