Many Europeans can enter Turkey with a valid ID card tourism purposes. These countries include Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Malta, Moldova, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, and Ukraine.
United Kingdom: Passports must be valid for at least 150 days beyond the entry date.
General requirements: Foreigners wishing to enter Turkey should carry a passport with an expiration date at least six months beyond the duration of their visa, e-Visa, visa exemption, or residence permit. However, travellers should check the specific requirements applicable before travelling.
Nationals of many countries can enter Turkey without a visa. These include citizens from EU countries (except Cyprus), Americans, British, and Canadians.

Most travellers transiting through Turkey under specific conditions do not require a transit visa. However, citizens of Afghanistan, Burkina Faso, Chad, Guinea, India, Yemen, Cameroon, Mauritania, Nepal and Somalia must obtain an electronic airport transit visa when traveling to Mexico, Panama, Colombia, or Venezuela via Istanbul Airport.
