Phuket International Airport Guide (HKT)
Phuket International Airport (IATA: HKT, ICAO: VTSP) serves the island of Phuket in southern Thailand. Phuket is a hugely popular holiday destination, and accordingly, the airport receives many international flights, especially from low-cost carriers. Phuket International Airport has two terminals – International and Domestic. This Phuket International Airport guide provides details of terminal facilities and transport to and from the airport.
Information desks are available in both Arrivals and Departures. There is also a desk in Arrivals promoting tourism in Phuket. Visitors can call +66 7635 1111 for further assistance. Check-in counters are located on the ground floor.
Route 4031 takes travellers directly to Phuket International Airport.
Travellers coming from the touristy areas of southeast Phuket take either Route 402 or 4024 to head north, before merging into Route 4031. The drive time from Old Phuket Town can take more than an hour when traffic is congested.
Public Transport
Bus: Phuket Smart Bus, the island's airport public bus service, connects Phuket International Airport with Rawai on the southeastern tip, via popular tourist destinations including Thalang, Cherngtalay, Laguna, Surin, Kamala, Patong, Karon, Kata, and Phromthep Cape. Visit the website phuketsmartbus.com for the latest timetables.
Taxi: Yellow-top red-body taxis are available outside of Arrivals in both the Domestic and International terminals. Fares are metered. Passengers will see a staffed counter and a banner displaying the rates clearly. Travellers with large bags or more than two passengers are encouraged to consider a limousine or a minibus transfer.
E-hailing or ride-hailing: Grab operates in Phuket and can pick up passengers from Phuket International Airport. The pick-up area is indicated in the app. If you cannot find it on the map for some reason, look for a shelter painted in the Grab colours.
