Strigino Nizhny Novgorod International Airport Guide (GOJ)
The airport is located about 14km (8.5 miles) southwest of Nizhny Novgorod city centre.
Nizhny Novgorod International Airport serves the region of Russia to the east of Moscow, located roughly 300km (180 miles) from the capital. Our Nizhny Novgorod International Airport guide includes recommended transport routes to and from the airport, details of terminal facilities, and a list of accommodation options nearby.
Plans are currently in place to construct a direct rail link that will connect the airport and the city centre, but a start date is still unconfirmed. A major terminal expansion and modernisation project is underway, with completion anticipated for 2021.
The airport is signposted from the city centre. Follow Lenina road southwest from central Nizhny Novgorod, turning left onto Vedenyapina, then right onto Yuzhnoye. This road then becomes Arkadiya Gaydara, and subsequently Orekhovskaya Road. From here, turn right onto Bezvodnaya, which leads to the airport entrance.
