Best time to visit

Split enjoys a balmy Mediterranean climate, though it can get cold (thanks to the seasonal bura wind) and fairly wet in winter. Summers can be almost unbearably hot with many locals doing little or heading off to the islands in July and August, while crowds of tourists flood the city. Subsequently, May, June and September are the best months to visit Split with cooler temperatures of around 25°C (77°F) and fewer crowds.
