Barcelona Airport Guide (BCN)
Officially known as Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport, Spain’s second largest airport serves Barcelona and the surrounding Catalonia region. Our Barcelona Airport guide includes information on terminal facilities, airport contact details, as well as public transport and accommodation options.
There are plans to expand the original airport terminal, as well as add a satellite facility, though no timeline for such work has yet been given.
Airport information desks can be found throughout the airport (tel: +34 902 404 704), at seven locations in Terminal 1 and four points in Terminal 2. Tourist information desks are located in Terminal 1 (tel: +34 933 788 175), on the first floor and Terminal 2 (tel: +34 933 788 149), in arrivals; there is also a hotel information point in Terminal 2’s B concourse.
A pedestrian walkway links the A, B and C concourses of Terminal 2. A free shuttle bus operates between Terminals 1 and 2, running every four minutes at peak times.
From Barcelona city centre, take the Barcelona ring road and turn off at the Barcelona-Castelldefels C-31 motorway (which also connects with the Barcelona-Sitges C-32 motorway). From here, turn off at exit 192 to join the airport access road. The total drive time from Barcelona to the airport is approximately 20 minutes.

The airport railway station is linked to Terminal 2 by a walkway. Free shuttle buses run from Terminal 1 to this station.
Metro: The newly opened Metro line L9 (www.tmb.cat) has stations in both terminals, and links the airport with a number of stops in Barcelona, along with connections to other lines and the main Barcelona rail station; an 'airport ticket' costs €4.50 one-way.
