Singapore Changi Airport is a prominent aviation hub in Southeast Asia. This acclaimed airport, having garnered over 670 prestigious awards as of July 2023, truly encapsulates the essence of the city-state itself – it exudes cleanliness, efficiency, orderliness, and remarkable beauty.

Singapore Changi Airport has four terminals and Changi Jewel, a massive retail and entertainment complex adjacent to T1. Within Changi Jewel, visitors can marvel at the world's tallest indoor waterfall, standing at an impressive 40 meters in height, alongside vibrant tropical gardens and a dazzling array of dining and shopping options. Please note that going to Jewel requires one to use one of the ipads near immigration to fill out a digital Arrival Card and clear immigration first.

Construction on Changi Airport's Terminal 5 will start in 2025, with operation commencing in 2030.

Information

Touch-screen information kiosks are located at various places throughout the airport. Alternatively, you can call the airport hotline +65 6595 6868 and speak to a representative.

Transfer between terminals

Terminals 1, 2, and 3: A free Skytrain runs frequently between these terminals. Operating hours are 0430 - 0130 hrs. Passengers can also use the inter-terminal travellators to walk between T1 and T3, or use the Mezzanine Level link bridge to walk between T2 and T3.

Terminal 4: A free shuttle connects T4 with T1, T2 and Jewel. The journey time between terminals takes 10 to 18 minutes.

Changi Jewel: This massive complex adjacent to T1 is reachable by Skytrain from T2 and T3, and by the free shuttle from T4. Please note that one needs to clear immigration before going to Jewel. Use any of the iPads available near immigration to fill out a digital Arrival Card, then proceed to the immigration.

Driving directions

Changi Airport is easily accessible by the East Coast Parkway (ECP), the Tampines Expressway (TPE), and the Pan Island Expressway (PIE). The latter runs the length of Singapore, spanning 42.8km (27 miles), connecting Changi Airport in the east and Tuas in the west.

Public Transport

Public transport rail

Rail Transportation: Singapore's extensive rail network, locally referred to as MRT, spans across the city with more than 140 stations, including the conveniently located Changi MRT Station beneath Terminal 2. Travelers have several options for rail payment, including a Singapore Tourist Pass, an EZ-link card, or a contactless credit card. Public transport road

Buses for T1, T2 and T3: Bus stops are located in the basement, where passengers can take bus lines 24, 27, 34, 36, 53, 110 and 858 to various places in Singapore. Tourists can pay in cash (no change will be given) or with a contactless credit card. Please note that foreign-issued bank cards may incur additional fees.

Buses for T4: A bus stop is located next to Car Park 4B, where passengers can take bus lines 24, 34, 36 and 110.

Coach: Transtar runs a coach service from T1 (Arrival Hall Coach Bay) to the Customs and Immigration (CIQ) in Johor Bahru, via Woodlands Checkpoint. Payment is either in cash (no change will be given) or by an EZ-link card only. For more information, click here.

Taxi: Taxis provide the quickest transfer from Changi Airport to the city centre and most destinations in Singapore. All taxis in Singapore are metred, clean, and efficient. Taxi stands are at the Arrivals hall of each terminal. A ride to the city takes about 30 minutes depending on traffic, and it costs between SG$20 and SG$40 excluding Airport Surcharge (which applies to all trips originating from the airport and typically ranges between SG$6 and SG$8).

Ride-hailing: Grab, Gojek, Tada Mobility and Ryde are available in Singapore, providing a transport alternative for visitors. The pick-up points are at the Arrivals hall of each terminal.

Banks and ATMs are available throughout the airport.

Every terminal also has a few money exchange counters in Arrivals and Departures, respectively.

Communication

Free 3-hour Wi-Fi is available in both the public and transit areas of Changi Airport.

Singpost, the nation's postal service provider, is located in the public area, Level 2, T2.

Food

Singapore Changi Airport has a wide range of facilities available, including but not limited to a rooftop swimming pool (T1), a climbing gym (T3), spa and shower services (T1, T2, T3, and Changi Jewel), and various themed gardens. In addition, Changi Jewel has the jaw-dropping 40m-tall indoor waterfall (the world's tallest), and its top floor features the 14,000sqm Canopy Park.

Every terminal also has a medical clinic, while pharmacies are available in T1, T2 and T3.

Conference and business

Every terminal at Singapore Changi has lounges, and many of which have basic business services. Additional meeting rooms and business services are available at Crowne Plaza Changi Hotel, an upscale accommodation linked to Terminal 3 via a bridge.

Disabled facilities

Singapore Changi Airport has level access, lifts, ramps, accessible toilets, accessible changing rooms, hearing enhancement systems, and a wheelchair-friendly navigation guide on the iChangi App.

Travellers who require special arrangements should contact the airline at least 48 hours before travelling.

Car parking

There are five car parks at Changi Airport – one at each Terminal, plus the Hub & Spoke Car Park between Terminal 2 and JetQuay (an exclusive terminal for Commercially Important Persons). Those who pick up/ drop off passengers enjoy a 10-minute grace period.

Singapore Changi Airport has transit hotels for passengers who arrive, depart or transit through the airport. There are:
Terminal 1: Aerotel Airport Transit Hotel (+65 6808 2388) is on Level 3, above Gate D41 in Departures.
Terminal 2: Ambassador Transit Hotel (+65 6542 8122) is on Level 3 in Departures hall south.
Terminal 3: Ambassador Transit Hotel (+65 6507 9788) is on Level 3 in Departures.
JetQuay: JetQuay Sleeping Suites (+65 6262 2220) is in the JetQuay CIP (Commercially Important Person) Terminal.

In addition, the 5-star Crowne Plaza is linked to the T3 Arrivals via a bridge, while the 3-star YotelAir is located inside Changi Jewel, which is near T1.
