Moscow Domodedovo International Airport Guide (DME)
One of three major airports surrounding Moscow, Domodedovo International Airport is one of the busiest in Russia. Our guide to the airport provides relevant contact information, details about airport facilities and instructions for travelling between the airport and Moscow city centre.
Airport information kiosks are located throughout the terminal. A flight information desk (tel: +7 495 720 6666) is located in the centre of the passenger terminal.
The main road leading to the airport from Moscow is the Kashira Highway. Take this road southwards and merge onto Domodedovo Airport Road, which leads to the terminals.
Public Transport
Rail: Paveletsky Station is connected to Moscow Domodedovo International Airport via the high-speed, non-stop Aeroexpress train (tel: +7 800 700 3377; www.aeroexpress.ru). This takes around 40-50 minutes. Some airlines provide passengers with free tickets for the Aeroexpress.
Commuter trains (tel: +7 499 266 0265; central-ppk.ru/), which are cheaper but slower (around 1 hour 10 minutes) also link the airport with the city centre.
Bus: Buses and shuttles leave from the station square, outside exit 2 from the passenger terminal building. Further details of routes can be found on the airport website.
Taxi: Special Taxi desks are located in the domestic arrivals hall (desk 231 and 232), in the international arrivals hall (desk 1 and 2) and in the public area of the airport terminal (desk 185). The journey time into central Moscow is about 60 minutes, and fares are prepaid at the taxi desks within Arrivals – use of unofficial taxis is strongly advised against. Terminal facilities
There are several operating cash desks, currency exchange offices and ATMs, scattered around the passenger terminal of Domodedovo International Airport. Bank services are provided around the clock.
Free Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout the airport, and internet facilities are also available at several stationary kiosks located in the terminal. There are more than 40 phones located throughout the terminals and mobile phone charging is also available. Additionally, a post office is situated in the shopping centre on the second floor.
There are several restaurants, bars and coffee shops at Moscow Domodedovo International Airport. Among these is an Indian eatery, an Italian café and an Irish bar.
The main shopping area is situated on the second floor of the terminal complex. Shops selling perfumes, souvenirs, toys and many other items are available. Duty-free shopping is an option for international passengers.
Trolleys are available free of charge throughout the airport terminal and at the train station. There is a left-luggage facility in the luggage office at the underground level of the terminal, and baggage-packing services are available on the first floor next to the check-in desks. A lost property office (tel: +7 495 504 0285) is also available.
There are special facilities for mothers and children and there is a children’s centre where kids can be entertained under the watch of qualified carers. The 24-hour central medical assistance station (tel: +7 495 504 0249) is located on the first level in the right wing of the passenger terminal complex. There is also an on-site chapel and a mosque.
Airport facilities
The business center is located in the VIP hall on the first floor of the general zone. Meeting rooms equipped with TVs and telecommunication services are available for hire (tel: +7 495 504 0267). These rooms can accommodate 10 to 20 people. More extensive meeting facilities are available at the nearby Domodedovo Airhotel (tel: +7 495 795 3868; www.airhotel.ru).
Facilities for disabled passengers at Moscow Domodedovo International Airport include lifts and adapted toilets, as well as a fleet of accessible minibuses to transport passengers around the airport. Specialist staff are on hand to assist disabled passengers (tel: +7 495 797 4653) and a designated parking service is also available (tel: +7 916 509 5293).
There is parking space for more than 5,000 cars at the airport. Short-term parking is available adjacent to the terminals, while long-stay spaces are situated at the railway station and next to Domodedovo Airhotel. Limited short-term VIP parking can be found at the international terminal.
Avis, Sixt and Hertz provide car hire services, along with local operators. Desks for these companies are located in the international arrival hall.
Boasting parking facilities, a games room and a 24-hour business centre, the Ramada Moscow Domodedovo is a short distance from the airport. A free hourly shuttle ferries guests to and from the terminals.
The Domodedovo Airhotel has 299 rooms of varying sizes, and it is linked to the terminals by a regular shuttle service (despite being close to the terminals). The hotel additionally offers meeting rooms and other business and leisure services, including a gymnasium, restaurant and bar.
