Driving directions

From the centre of Cluj-Napoca, follow route 1C (E576) eastwards. This leads directly to the airport.

Public Transport

Public transport road

Bus:Bus lines 8 and 5 (tel: +40 264 430 917; operate regularly from the airport into the city (journey time: 30 minutes; fare: RON4).

Taxi:Cabs are readily available outside the Arrivals Terminal to take passengers into the city centre (fare: RON2, 25/km). A number of taxi firms offer bookings – full details can be found on the airport website.

Terminal facilities


ATMs and currency exchange are available in both Arrivals and Departures.


Wi-Fi internet access is available in the Business Lounges in the Passenger Departure Terminal, as well as in the international passenger and domestic passenger pickup area. Public telephones are available throughout the airport.


There is a choice of cafés both landside and airside, along with a restaurant located in the Public Zone on the first floor of the Old Terminal.


Duty-free shops selling a wide variety of goods are available in Departures. Outside of the duty-free retailers, passengers can find terminal shops offering religious items, fashion accessories, local crafts and general souvenirs.


Baggage trolleys are available in the Departures Terminal, along with a baggage wrapping service.

The airport is fully accessible, with lifts, disabled toilets, and designated parking close to the terminal. The airport recommends that passengers requiring additional assistance make contact with their airline before travelling.

International car hire companies represented at Cluj Avram Iancu International Airport include: Avis, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt, along with a number of local outfits. Offices for all rental companies are located in Arrivals.


There are no hotels within the airport grounds. The nearest accommodation is the small Hotel Pension Verona, about 2km (1.2 miles) from the terminal. Larger hotels meanwhile, can be found in the city centre.
