Passports

To enter Montenegro, your passport must be issued within the last 10 years and its expiry date extends at least three (3) months beyond your planned departure from Montenegro. EU nationals can enter Montenegro with a valid ID for stays up to 30 days.

Passport note

All foreign visitors to Montenegro must register with local authorities within 24 hours of their arrival. If you stay in a hotel, hostel, or other commercial accommodation, you will be automatically registered at check-in. However, if you stay in private accommodation, such as an Airbnb or with friends and family, you must register yourself.

Registration can be completed at the local tourist information centre or, if necessary, at the police station. You will need to provide your passport and accommodation details. A daily tourist tax applies.
