Flying to Maldives
Maldivian (www.maldivian.aero) is the national carrier and operates flights between the Maldives and Bangkok. British Airways (www.ba.com) operates direct flights from the UK from November to March. During the summer months, flights go via Doha (DOH) and continue onwards with Qatar Airways (www.qatarairways.com). From New York, you can catch a flight to Dubai and continue onwards with Emirates (www.emirates.com). Flights year-round are fairly expensive, but they are especially high during Christmas and the winter months.
The major airport is: Malé Ibrahim Nasir International Airport.
From London - 10 hours 30 minutes; New York - 18 hours (including stopover); Singapore – 4 hours 30 minutes; Sydney – 16 hours (including stopover); Toronto – 22 hours 30 minutes (including stopover).

Getting to Maldives by boat
Many cruise ships stopover at the Maldives islands as part of their itinerary. Holland America (www.hollandamerica.com), Ponant (www.ponant.com), Oceania Cruises (www.oceaniacruises.com) and Costa Cruises (www.costacruises.com) are among the operators.
No public ferry services operate between the Maldives and other countries.
