Public Transport
Shuttle: Unofficial shared-ride minibuses, known as service taxis, operate to and from the airport to various city destinations upon request. These minibuses depart once they are full.
Taxi: Certified airport taxis, recognisable by the airport logo on their sides, offer fixed price transfers to the city centre from outside the arrivals hall. Other taxis are also available at the airport, but these fares for rides must be negotiated through bargaining. Expect to pay around US$25/LBP35,000 for the trip into the city centre. The journey time into the city is approximately 15 to 20 minutes.
Terminal facilities
Wi-Fi access is available for free for the first 30 minutes of usage. Passengers can buy extra time with credit cards. Every extra 30 minutes costs 5 LBP, and 75 minutes costs 10 LBP. A post office and pay phones are also available in the terminal.
There are several restaurants and cafés located in the airport. Lebanese, Japanese and other international cuisines are offered in comfortable venues.
Five shopping zones offer international duty free shops for passengers. Find electronics, perfume, food items, and souvenirs available for purchase in this extensive facility.
Airport security desks (tel: +961 1 628 000) provide lost luggage tracking services – passengers must first collect a paper slip verifying their loss from the arrival hall. Baggage wrapping services are available in the check-in area.
Airport facilities
Passengers may choose between three lounges on the second level of the terminal. There are no business or conference facilities in the airport, but a number of nearby hotels do offer these spaces.
Long and short-term paid parking is currently available for 2,350 vehicles. Access from the terminal building to the car parks is via a pedestrian tunnel.
Avis, Budget, Hertz, Europcar and National are represented at the airport. Desks for car rental companies are grouped together in the main terminal building.
This extravagant resort is a 10-minute drive away from the airport and sits on the coast. The hotel’s facilities include meetings and event space, an outdoor swimming pool, and a number of restaurants.
The Golden Plaza is an upmarket hotel close to the airport offering suite-style accommodation and conference facilities. The hotel provides a fitness centre and a full-service restaurant.
