Honolulu tours and excursions
Honolulu tours
Roberts Hawaii and Polynesian Adventure Tours are Honolulu's largest land tour operators. Most of their tours utilise 50- to 65-passenger coaches. Discover Hawaii Tours and E Noa Tours also offer tours to the major scenic sights and visitor attractions on Oahu, but use smaller mini-vans.
The Chinese Chamber of Commerce organises guided walking tours of Chinatown. So does the Hawaii Heritage Center. Clean Air Team and the Hawaii Geographic Society organise various walking tours in and around Honolulu, with some focusing on historic buildings and architecture and places of worship among other themes.
Excursions from Honolulu
Many first-time Oahu visitors choose to take a circle-island bus tour, which, depending on the company, includes stops at such locations as Halona Blowhole, Hanauma Bay, Nuuanu Pali Lookout, the North Shore beaches, and—to the delight of adults and children alike—Dole Plantation.
A popular excursion from Honolulu is to Pearl Harbor, one of America's most important naval bases.
On December 7, 1941, Japanese warplanes bombed battleships moored in the harbour, catapulting the United States into WWII. A Pearl Harbor excursion often includes a visit to the USS Arizona Memorial, the USS Missouri Memorial, and the USS Bowfin submarine.
