There is a free shuttle service connecting Gate 7 in Terminal 3 and Gate 5 in Terminal 4.
From Xiamen city centre, head east on Xianyue Road, then north on Chenggong Avenue and follow the airport sign. The journey takes about 20 minutes when there is no traffic.
Public Transport
Coach: There are several buses connect the airport to various places in Xiamen. For example, Route 27 takes you to the main ferry terminal, while Route 37 serves the railway station. Bus stops are located in Yuanlin Square opposite of Terminal 3, and about 100-metre outside the arrivals hall in Terminal 4.
Konggang Kueixian (tel: +86 592 570 8275), the same company that manages the free transfer shuttle between terminals, runs several express services to surrounding areas including the main ferry terminal and Wutong Wharf, among others. Wait for the service outside Gate 7 (Terminal 3) and Gate 5 (Terminal 4).
BRT is another express service that connects the airport to several hotels.
Taxi: Taxis (tel: +86 592 561 5610) are abundant; they are outside Gate 7 in Terminal 3 and outside Gate 3 in Terminal 4.
Terminal facilities
There are two currency exchange counters and several ATMs in each terminal respectively. Bank of China also has a branch in Terminal 3.
Free Wi-Fi internet access is available. Passengers also can rent a small portable device which acts as personal WiFi from the mobile sales counters in both terminals (tel: +86 592 561 6052).
There are a couple of restaurants and cafes in each terminal. McDonald’s, KFC and three cafes are in Terminal 3. There is also a small selection of eateries in Yuanlin, the car park opposite Terminal 3.
A variety of shops, from international fashion chains to Chinese teashops, operate in both terminals. Duty-free shops are in Terminal 3.
Airport facilities
There is a business centre in the departures hall (Terminals 3 and 4) with basic photocopying and fax services.
There are two car parks near to Terminal 3 – one is known as Yuanlin while the other T3 East. There is also a car park outside Terminal 4. The first 30 minutes is free, subsequently you pay anything from RMB 6 to 15 depending on the size of your vehicle and also which car park you use. Yuanlin car park has a lower fee than the other two.

Only a 20-minute drive from the airport and with superb views over Xiamen Bay, this 342 hotel is a favourite of western travellers in Xiamen. Its business facilities, including 10 meeting rooms, are functional and well equipped.

If you want to stay in a good location without spending much, consider Ibis. This hotel is surrounded by shopping malls and is only 200-metre from the railway station.
