Mainly used as a hub for domestic flights within Brazil, Brasilia International Airport (officially known as Brasilia-Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport) serves the country’s capital, Brasilia. Transfer between terminals

A shuttle service operates between the terminals.

Driving directions

The airport is located a short distance from central Brasilia. From the centre of the city head south along Estrada Epia (route 450) – which passes to the west of the city centre – and continue straight before turning onto the eastbound Estrada Parque Dom Bosco. Follow the signs to the airport, which is at the end of Estrada Parque Aeroporto. The DF-002 road also connects the airport directly with Brasilia. The total drive time from the city is around 15 minutes.

Public transport road

Bus:DF Trans (tel: +55 61 3043 0401; www.dftrans.df.gov.br- Portuguese only) bus 102 runs to the bus station in the centre of Brasilia (journey time: 30 minutes; fare: R$2).

Coach:Long-distance interstate coaches connect Brasilia with other major centres around the country from the city centre bus station.

Taxi:Taxis are available 24 hours a day from outside the terminals. These are the easiest and fastest way to travel to the city centre (journey time: 15 minutes).

Terminal facilities

Money

There are two banks and various ATMs at the airport. Bureau de change facilities are located within the Banco do Brasil in Terminal 1.

Communication

Free Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout Brasilia International Airport. A 24-hour post office is located on-site.

Food

The main restaurant in Terminal 1 is open 1100 to 2300. In addition, there are a variety of snack bars, two of which are open 24 hours.

Shopping

There are around 140 shops at the airport, including duty-free outlets, electronic and music retailers and gift shops.

Luggage

Left-luggage facilities are available within the terminals. A Lost and Found Office (tel: +55 61 3214 6109), run by the main airport information desk, is on hand to assist with lost luggage queries.

Other

First aid and medical facilities (including Yellow Fever vaccinations) are available 24 hours a day in the arrivals area of Terminal 1. A travel agent is on hand to arrange bookings for tours and hotels.

Conference and business

There is a VIP lounge available to paying guests. The post office has telephones and fax machines for business use. Further business and conference facilities are available at the on-site Base Concept Hotel (tel: +55 61 2196 6600; www.basehoteis.com.br), located 380m (1,250ft) from the terminal complex.

Disabled facilities

Disabled facilities at the airport are basic but include lifts and ramps to accommodate wheelchairs as well as adapted toilets within the terminals. Any passengers who may require additional assistance are advised to contact their airline before travelling.

Car parking

Long and short-term parking is available for 800 cars in the airport car parks, which are located within easy walking distance of both terminals.

Car rental

International car hire companies Avis and Hertz are represented at the airport, along with a selection of local operators. Desks for these companies are located in the arrivals area of Terminal 1.

Hotels

There is one on-site hotel at Brasília International Airport. Aside from this, the majority of the city's accommodation is situated in two central districts (Hotel Sector North and Hotel Sector South) that straddle Eixo Monumental. Brasilia Tourist Information at the airport can book rooms in advance or upon arrival. Many larger hotels in the city provide courtesy shuttle services to and from the airport.
