Credit cards (Visa, MasterCard and American Express) and debit cards are generally accepted in larger Nigerian towns and cities, especially in tourist areas.
ATMs are available in most larger cities and towns in Nigeria. However, ATM cash withdrawals outside bigger communities or cities may not be available.
When entering or leaving Nigeria, travelers are required to declare amounts exceeding $10,000 or its equivalent in other currencies.
Authorised currency exchange services are available in Nigeria, particularly in major cities and airports. Some major hotels are licensed as authorised buyers and can exchange foreign currency for guests. However, it's essential to ensure that any currency exchange is conducted through officially licensed money changers to avoid legal issues.
