Hollywood Christmas Parade
This annual parade dates back to the 1920s and welcomes the start of the Christmas season in the US with a procession of floats, cars, marching bands and celebrities. There’s free kerbside standing or you can buy grandstand tickets for a bird's eye view. The parade makes a 5.6 km (3.5 miles) journey along Hollywood and Sunset Boulevard, past many of the legendary buildings of Old Hollywood. It takes place at night, so wrap up as it can be chilly. And, as always, Santa Claus makes an appearance at the conclusion of every Christmas parade.
