Columbus Festival

Christopher Columbus lived on Porto Santo Island, and on the third week of September every year, his arrival is reenacted in the city of Vila Baleira. His disembarking from a ship is reenacted, and there's a 16th-century style market, plus parades, music and other entertainment.
