When you’re contending with deep snow and strong winds, it’s clear that ski gear needs to do more than just look good. New and innovative products are constantly being developed to increase performance, flexibility and style. Here’s our list of top 5 ski gear that ticks all the right boxes.
Dragon Advanced Projects X goggles
For: 40/40 vision upon the mountain tops
The ‘less is more’ slogan for Dragon Alliance’s new APX goggle range is clearly exhibited in its minimalist design and technical innovation. However, the unique factor of the APX range is in its revolutionary, patented fully frameless design. With its increased lens coverage, these are most delightfully bug-eyed goggles on the market.

Sight is key and along with the goggle’s wider field of view, the lens has also been specially anti-fog treated so that your views of stunning white-washed mountains are never less than pristine. The goggles also hug your face with cosy triple layer foam and micro fleece lining, meaning that you can look cool and be comfortable at the same time.
Fischer Hybrid ski
For: Skiing on all terrains
Fischer
A godsend for experienced skiers, Fischer’s new Hybrid series provides the option to change from on-piste skiing to extreme powder mode at just one click. Referring to itself as the ‘Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde’ of the ski world, the unique aspect of this model is that at the flick of a switch, the skier can change the camber profile of the ski to suit different terrains.
If you revel in the speed of on-piste, stick to the traditional camber position. However, if you’re in the mood for adventure, flip the switch located towards the front surface of the ski to lift the tip into a rocker position, allowing for nimble-free skiing in powder snow.
Lange XT boots
For: Adventurous skiers
Kalice.fr
Nicknamed the “adventure boot”, the new Lange XT range has power V-lock technology to allow for easier hiking for all-mountain skiers. This means easier access to off-piste areas and challenging terrain so you can unleash your inner daredevil whilst still feeling safe and confident.
When unlocked, the boot can flex comfortably for hiking. The ultra grip rubber sole, lower heel elevation and extra light liner have all been specially tailored for strenuous climbs. However, when locked into ski mode, the boot stiffens, allowing for equally impressive downhill performance. The latch for flipping between the two modes is easy to use, meaning you have complete control at all times.
DPS Spoon ski
For: Heli skiers

Introducing itself as the ‘most advanced deep powder ski in the world’, DPS’s new ski, the Spoon, has some big boots to fill. Whilst the name might not suggest a technologically advanced piece of equipment, the Spoon is designed for those who love the thrill of heli skiing in back country in knee-deep – or deeper - powder snow.
The upturned tips of the Spoon reduces ground contact, enabling skiers to almost float above the snow as they negotiate deep and steep turns.
Patagonia Men’s PowSlayer jacket and bib
For: All skiers
Patagonia
Patagonia’s new PowSlayer jacket and bib pledge to offer light-as-a-feather outerwear with all the protection of being wrapped up in a bundle of cotton wool. This is made possible by the three lightweight but drable layers of breathable Gore-Tex fabric. The jacket and bib also have slim, waterproof zips.
Thigh and armpit vents are also built in for a quick release of heat to ensure that you don't get too hot and bothered on the slopes. Also the jacket and bib both feature internal pull tabs to easily adjust the suit for that perfect fit. Team with the DPS Spoon to make a gruesome twosome for tackling powder snow.
