If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life, head to CampSpirit in the Netherlands, where luxury camping options are available on an uninhabited island in the middle of Lake Veluwe (Veluwemeer), around 35km (21 miles) east of Amsterdam. Choose from spacious tents, tepees or yurts on the four-hectare (10-acre) island. A communal area is provided with hammocks and games, while hot shower facilities are also available. Remain on De Kluut Island, venture out onto the lake in a canoe or take the ferry to nearby Flevoland for a number of day-trip options.
