The internet has also given people the ability to research, plan and book holidays without help from third parties. Effectively you can now arrange a holiday without even speaking to anyone. 

Impact of Technology

While the internet has not enabled the peer-to-peer travel market to grow, mobile technology has changed the way people travel; you can now download your itinerary, book flights, read online maps and much more while you’re on the go.

To keep up with the consumer trends, travel agents are constantly adapting to meet the needs of the modern traveller. According to the Travel Market Report 2014, consumers’ expectations for speed is increasing – people want to make the absolute most of their time away – which is why the industry has introduced initiatives such as online flight check-in.

The report also shows that consumers don’t want to have the same experiences as everyone else. Hayes and Jarvis have taken this on board.
